Welcome to CLIQUE!

I can trace my love of photography back three generations, to the early 1900s and my paternal great-grandfather, Henry Mattson. I have a really cool photo that he took of the old family homestead in Minnesota, sometime before 1910. According to family history, Grampa Mattson frequently took photos of his world - the people and places that he loved.

It warms my heart to know that this love of photography didn't skip any generations as it passed down to me! I am blessed to have such a legacy and I hope to pass it on to my own children and grandchildren some day.

I experience a physical and spiritual thrill whenever the Lord shows Himself in His marvelous creation around us and in the people I meet. My dream vacation would be to spend a year or two just traveling around the US, stopping at little out of the way places and photographing the interesting characters and the beauty of nature to be found along the way - those things that draw me closer to GOD and help point others to Him, too.

Reflections Lake, pt 2

Pioneer Peak

Reflections Lake

This spot is right off the Knik River Access Rd. I didn't even know it was there. My new friend Nicky spotted it, so we stopped - glad we did!

My eyes are crossing... Off to bed for now, but will try to get more pix edited and posted tomorrow. TFL :)

More photos from Knik River

Taken Sept 17, 2010. Yes, I realize my watermark thingy is crooked. At least it's in my own handwriting!

Shall we try again?!

So. Now, it's been nearly six months since my last post on this blog and 18 months since I last uploaded photos. You've missed the wedding of our youngest son. The birth (through first birthday) of our granddaughter. Trips to Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Hawaii, Cordova AK and the Alaska Zoo, among other places.

So, shall we try again?

As a show of good faith, here is an image from a photo-shoot I was on yesterday with a new local friend (who's been an online acquaintance for more than a year):

This was taken at the Knik River Access on the Glenn Hwy.  Although we've had clear, sunny skies the past week or so, we've also been plagued with heavy fog at times -- you can see a bit of that here.  I love to visit this site any time of year - it's especially beautiful in winter!

I'll be back to post more photos soon.

Truly.

Hello. Again.

O my goodness -- can't believe I haven't updated this blog in more than a year... So much has happened in that time and I have so many wonderful photos to share. I think what I'll do is a month-by-month LO of favorites and include some journaling to share the various events and experiences we've had.

I can't begin right now, though -- I'm at the office and won't have access until later this evening. If you can be patient with me, I will do my best to post my first LO in the next day or two.

Thanks and may your day be Blessed --
